Royalties of book sale donated to Kidney Cancer Canada
Author: Bonny Beswick
Gerry Dewulf was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 2004. Prompt removal of his right kidney seemed encouraging, but the cancer returned. In 2008, doctors found it had metastasized, primarily to his liver.
His determination, drug therapy (sunitinib, everolimus and pazopanib), and stellar care from Dr. Danny Heng and his team at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, Alberta allowed Gerry to travel, enjoy his wonderful grandchildren, and play softball and golf for over five years, but he passed away on February 25, 2014.
Kidney Cancer Canada was a valuable resource to both Gerry and his wife, Bonny Beswick, in the fight against the disease. Since Gerry’s death, Bonny has found a passion in writing, recently publishing her first novel, Under the Ombu Tree, available on Amazon. To commemorate the eighth anniversary of his passing, Bonny is donating the royalties from her book (both English and Spanish translation) during Kidney Awareness Month to Kidney Cancer Canada.
